CHILD IMMUNISATION APPOINTMENT
The practice nurse holds a weekly child immunisation clinic by appointment every Thursday afternoon. Appointments can be booked via the receptionists. Babies must have had their six week check by a doctor before they can book into the immunisation clinic.
Contraceptive care is provided by one of Nurse Practitioners during surgery hours. Pre-bookable appointments are available for our Women's Health clinics which are run twice a week
Appointments can be booked with our Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse for smears and discussions of women's health issues or in one of our specific women's health clinics.
The surgery is able to carry out minor surgical procedures by appointment. The doctors will be happy to advise you on this.
The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licences, by appointment outside surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. Please ask at reception for the charges for these services.
PREGNANCY & MIDWIVES
The practice has two midwives who provide ante-natel care. They are based on the first floor of the building.
SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES
If you think you may have contacted a sexually transmitted disease such as Chlamydia, Syphilis or Gonorrhea, it is best to go to the Genitor-urinary Clinic at North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke. You can check symptoms on the NHS website
. They can quickly do all the necessary tests, organise contact tracing where necessary, and quickly provide all of the treatment necessary. They operate a very good service, and it is completely anonymous.
The practice has its own private travel clinic www.mytravelclinic.co.uk. Please contact them directly to discuss your travel vaccinations. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. It is useful to fill out this travel vaccination form before attending the travel clinic.
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff from mid September onwards for details and to make an appointment.
