We have a small team of reception
and administrative staff who do their best to ensure the practice runs as smoothly
as possible. The practice manager supports the practice team and is responsible
for non-clinical aspects of the practice.
PRACTICE NURSES
The practice nurses work as a team to provide triaging and a number of clinics
including diabetes, asthma, contraception, well person and child immunisations.
The practice nurses are able to offer advice for many minor complaints including
hayfever, coughs and colds and sore throats. Sister Jean Thomas is a nurse prescriber and is therefore able to treat and prescribe for many common problems.
DISTRICT NURSES
The district nurse team works closely with the practice as part of the primary
healthcare team. The district nurses help patients who are unable to attend the
surgery.
HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT
The healthcare assistant supports the clinicians. She has been trained to take
blood, perform ECGs and take blood pressure readings.
HEALTH VISITORS
The health visitors also work closely with the practice as part of the primary
health team. They hold regular baby clinics - please ask reception for details.
